Topic of the Month - Microsoft OneNote
We are proud to bring you our second topic of the month webinar and blog series for 2021. This month we are focusing on a popular but often underutilized Microsoft 365 app… OneNote!
What is Microsoft OneNote?
Microsoft OneNote is an app that is designed for research, note-taking, and information storage.
Similar to apps like Evernote and Dropbox Paper, it lets you store text and images in free-form documents which you can keep private or share with others. OneNote is a part of the Microsoft 365 suite, along with programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What are the benefits of Microsoft OneNote?
As part of the Office 365 suite, it has a familiar interface and has now been integrated into many workplaces. Anything saved in OneNote is instantly shareable with other users.
Some of the main benefits of OneNote include:
Real-time collaboration
Access revisions & track changes
Securely store information
Use on any device & major operating system
Access on the go
Scan handwritten notes & convert to text
Touch capability to draw into system
Supports multimedia
Record audio & video into your notebook
Integrate with Microsoft apps & plugins
OneNote is divided into three key areas: Notebooks, Sections, and Pages.
A Notebook is similar to a physical notebook and is used to group related information, for example, a notebook per project.
Sections are used to group information together within the Notebook, for example, a section for weekly team meetings and a section for stakeholder feedback.
Add content to pages within each section. Unlike a physical notebook, you can add different types of content in any layout you like to the same page.
