Excel-ent Content – Top Microsoft Excel Resources
Have you heard the news? Our March 2021 topic of the month is a little program called Microsoft Excel. You know the program that you use almost every day and the program that sometimes makes you want to throw your computer out the window. We receive more questions relating to Microsoft Excel than any other topic out there. And quite frankly there are so many things to do in Excel and so many new features being introduced, it’s hard to keep up, even for certified Microsoft trainers. So here is a list of some top resources that the team at Excel & Flourish use when it comes to Excel!
Jon Acampora – Excel Campus - www.excelcampus.com
Jon and the team at Excel Campus are our go-to resources for VBA (Code/Macros). Here is a little more about them:
Jon focuses on efficiency and passionate about finding the fastest ways to accomplish a task. This covers a wide range of topics from keyboard shortcuts to financial modeling to tools that automate processes in Excel. He enjoys developing VBA applications that help solve problems and save time.
You will see the words “save time” a lot on this site because it is one of the challenges we all face when working with Excel. There are always 10 different ways to do the same task, and Jon wants to learn or create the fastest way to accomplish that task.

He hates doing things the hard way, so he is always looking for the best ways to solve problems in Excel. He created How To Excel because he wants to help get work done quickly and get out of the office on time.
Jeff Lenning - Excel University - www.excel-university.com
Jeff and Excel University have a great training program for Microsoft Excel. Our favorite thing about the site is that the courses are designed as undergrad and graduate programs.
About Excel University - Since Excel is used by millions of people to do many different things, the exact skills we all need vary based on the type of work we do. But, there are common skills that help many Excel users.
If we think about our Excel journey, we can visualize it as an arrow with various Excel skills we've learned along the path. There is no universal order in which people learn Excel skills. Some may learn VLOOKUP before PivotTables. Some will learn PivotTables before SUMIFS. And so on. But in general, as you increase your Excel knowledge by learning more skills, you gain the ability to transition from doing things manually to doing things the automated way.
In terms of our courses, we do teach skills in a very specific and intentional order.
