I get really jazzed about what I teach. So when people ask me,” what are your favorite topics to teach?” That’s an easy answer. When I’m watching people as I’m training them, I like to teach the topics that I can literally see the light bulb go on. Let’s take a look at some of my favorite classes.

Overcoming Inbox Overwhelm

I get emails from people who I’ve taught this class to years later saying,” I might have slipped but I remembered your concepts and I can go right back.” That class has a lot of impact on a day-to-day basis. 

Magic Shortcuts & Timesavers

I really love Excel- obviously, it’s in the name of my company- and another class that I really like teaching from are my Excel Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts. The simple things that I can train in 90 minutes can help people be so much faster at Excel, and in my mind, every keystroke costs money. So, if I can save some keystrokes, that’s a win. 

Pivot Tables, Dashboards & more

I’ve also been teaching a Power Hour with Excel, where we cover pivot tables. Pivot tables seem to be really intimidating for people. So instead, we do a quick challenge where you can go from zero to pivot table in two minutes or less. Even though I set the timer, I don’t rush them through it. By the time they’re done, they’ve realized they’re not going to break anything! It’s really easy to do, and a lot of fun to try and figure out. 

Simplify Big Data Sheets

The last class that’s been getting the most demand recently has been Excel’s Feature of Power Query. Nobody's talking about it, which makes it even more fun for me to teach. It's a tool that integrates with all of those external systems, such as: other Excel files, ERP, CRMs, Oracle, and whatever other systems and integrations you're using so we can feed data directly into Excel and clean it up. Once you set aside that time to clean it up once, you just hit the refresh and it’ll do it for you again, and again, and again. 

Time is Money

Like I said earlier, every keystroke costs money. These classes save companies hours a month, which is a ton of money. It really excites me to see that people are able to just get more done in less amount of time with higher quality and less error rate. 

And you know what? Those are the things that really bring me joy in my jobs. That's why I love teaching those topics among all of the other Microsoft suite.
